Teaching

"In a completely rational society, the best of us would be teachers and the rest of us would have to settle for something else." - Lee Iacocca

A student said to me recently "wow Mr.Bruns you make the saying 'those who can do, and those who can't teach' untrue." I was shocked that people actually think this.  I find that those who teach do and those who can't shouldn't.

Teaching is a very rewarding way for me to give back to all those who have given so much inspiration to me throughout the years. Currently, I teach Secondary Music at Campbell Hall in North Hollywood, CA where I founded a World Music Program in 2005 consisting of two Steel Bands, a Salsa Band, and a Brazilian Percussion Ensemble.  Occasionally I hold artist residencies from the City of L.A. where I oversee after-school music programs in the inner cities.  I also teach a limited number of students one-on-one which you can read about further at the private lessons web site.
